What is Aurora Canabis?

Aurora Cannabis

Aurora Cannabis is a Canadien licensed cannabis producer based out of Edmonton, British Columbia. Aurora Cannabis is publicly traded company in the Toronto and New York Stock Exchange(ACB). Founded in 2006, Aurora Cannabis has five sales licences, 8 production facilities, and operations in over 25 countries. With a market capitalization of $2.6 Billion, Aurora Cannabis is the second largest cannabis organization in the world behind Canapy Growth Corporation. In November of 2015, Aurora received its first licence from Health Canada, The Department of Public Health in Canada, to sell medical cannabis.

Aurora does not distribute cannabis for recreational use. To purchase cannabis from them you have to be registered as a patient. They have physicians who can prescribe you medical cannabis to help with whatever ailment you may have.

Aurora Cannabis Products

Aurora Cannabis carries a variety of products to offer something for every cannabis consumer. They offer cannabis in the form of dried cannabis, cannabis oil, milled decarb, milled blend, softgels, and oral dissolve strips. Within each of these categories they offer, indica, sativa, and a hybrid of both.

Aurora Cannabis THC and CBD Offerings

THC stands for tetrahydrocannabinol, the active ingredient in cannabis. THC is what gives you the “high” feeling when you consume cannabis. There are many medical benefits to the consumption of THC. For example, research has proven that it helps with immune system regulation, anti-inflammatory issues, pain, and anxiety.

CBD stands for cannabidiol, and is one of the 113 cannabinoids found in cannabis plants. CBD does not give you a high feeling but it provides many medical advantages. For example, it has been linked to pain relief, anxiety relief, anti-inflammatory, anti-nausea, and muscle relaxation. CBD can be consumed in many forms including bud, wax, and edibles. CBD is also used in ointments and lotions to help with muscle problems.

Aurora Cannabis Future

Aurora Cannabis is expected to enter the U.S. hemp market by the end of the year. In particular they are expected to capitalize on the hemp market for CBD products. U.S. hemp based product sales are expected to reach almost $2 Billion by the year 2022. With the extensive research on the health and wellness benefits of CBD and their application with hemp, Aurora is wise to continue expanding its CBD business.

Aurora Cannabis’s long term future outlook is a bit different. As global cannabis sales have the potential to reach over $200 billion by the end of 2030, Aurora has positioned itself as a market leader. There are three key market areas that will be pivotal for Aurora Cannabis’s long term outlook to look positive; hemp derived CBD products, medical cannabis, and recreational cannabis. If Aurora can be at the forefront of each of these markets over the next ten years, their long term investment outlook will look very good.
